Update: Life I Love

Hey Lovelies! I hope the New Year has brought you lots of love and new beginnings. It sure has for me! I'm not sure how long it's been since my last post, but I've been a busy bee! Along with building Xtra Lush, I've started working for a great Fashion Startup as a Remote Stylist. I'm still working on scheduling my life and my blog around my new hectic schedule. On top writing for this blog, I've also started an Xtra Lush blog. So trying to keep up with both sites has been double duty.

However, I must say that I prefer a busy/hectic life over one that's mundane and unspectacular. Last year I was working as a nanny for a really difficult family. Not only were the kids rude and disrespectful. The parents were unappreciative and inconsistent. I quit that job in December and things started to change for the better almost immediately. I am one of those people who believes you don't quit one job until you have another one lined up. In this case, things worked out exactly the way they should've. I'm now in a happier healthier place and excited for what's to come!

A few things I am currently working on for Style Studio include;

A New Logo
A Plus Size Fashion Section (I'm going to integrate posts from my Plus Size Fashion blog Xtra Lush)
Posting Weekly
And more...

Thank you for sticking by me through this adjustment period. It will be well worth the wait!

Editorial Eye: Denim on Denim

One of the editorials that caught my eye this month was Jean Streets shot by Aingeru Zorita for Marie Claire US. The denim diva, Brazilian stunner Daniela Braga was styled by Lester Garcia who urbanized pieces from Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Lanvin, and Balmain to name a few. To me, the styling is very reminiscent of RiRi's summer style which I loved and is probably why I was drawn to this look.

My Life in Pictures

Over the last month and a half, I have been going through a lot of changes. Most of them positive, but all of them for the best. As I mentioned in an earlier post I've recently started a new blog focusing on Plus Size Fashion along with contributing to a new Plus Size online boutique.  All of these changes have prevented me from updating this blog as much as I would like. However, I'm finally getting into Twitter and try to update my Instagram page a few times a week. Please feel free follow me there as well!

Hands down, the most exciting things I did was go on my first cruise! My bestie from college invited six other girls and I on a girls-only Mexican cruise for her thirtieth birthday. She'd also found a Murder Mystery event happening in Hollywood days after the cruise and decided to have an all-inclusive celebration there as well. Whenever I'm in Socal I try to visit my sister from another mister in San Diego. So, I fit that into my two weeks away. Here is the breakdown of my entire vacation and a look at my life through an iPhone lens.

The Itinerary

Fly to S.D. for a three day mini-vacay
Rent a car and drive up to L.A.
Two days to shop + play in L.A.  before the cruise
Four day cruise to Mexico
1920's Murder Mystery dinner in Hollywood
Back to the Bay
